What is Base64?
Base64 represents data, such as images, as a string of letters, numbers, and a few symbols. It is used for email attachments, embedding images in HTML or CSS, and exchanging data through APIs. It is not encryption: decoding restores the original data.

Which BASE64 formats can I decode?
Standard BASE64, URL-safe BASE64 (- and _), and BASE64 data URLs are accepted. Spaces, tabs, and line breaks are ignored, and omitted padding (=) is supported. Text output uses standard BASE64; image output includes its data URL prefix.
Which images are supported?
PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, BMP, ICO, AVIF, and SVG can be previewed when your browser supports them. Image data is detected from its contents. BASE64 encoding preserves the original file. Image copying creates a PNG of the displayed image; animated images are copied as a still image.
Is BASE64 encryption?
BASE64 is a reversible encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it. All text and image processing happens in your browser.
